Greenville Nursery School

About Us

Greenville Nursery School was established in 1975. We have been providing high quality early childhood education for children ages three to five years old in Greenville, Rhode Island and the surrounding communities for over fifty years. We offer both full-day and half-day program options to accommodate the needs of our families. Our Hours of Operation are Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We are dedicated to nurturing curious, confident, and compassionate learners through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships in a developmentally appropriate environment.

Philosophy

At Greenville Nursery School, we believe that early childhood is a time of wonder, exploration, and growth. Our philosophy centers on the belief that children learn best through play, quality teacher interactions, trusting relationships, and meaningful experiences in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment.

We are committed to providing a space where children feel safe, seen, and valued, allowing them to confidently explore the world around them. Our approach blends play-based learning, creative expression, social-emotional development, and connection to nature, honoring the whole child – mind, body, anbd spirit.

Rooted in an understanding that children are capable, curious, and resilient, we support each child’s individual growth by offering open-ended materials, time for unstructured play, and thoughtful guidance from caring educators. We see learning as a co-constructed journey between children, teachers, families, and the environment.

We strive to cultivate a preschool community that embraces diversity, kindness, inclusion, and respect for all living things. Through daily experiences in nature, art, storytelling and collaboration, children develop a lifelong love for learning, empathy for others and a deep connection to the world around them.
